MILL RIVER RUGS
Margaret Arraj MacDonald
Margaret's rug patterns have been inspired and created from historic, ethnic florals and old textiles. They represent and honor the artistic life and traditions of a variety of countries. All of her rugs are hooked by hand in the traditional manner using a simple wooden handled hook. They are made ot of strong three ply rug yarn that is pulled up loop by loop through a foundation of linen. Her work has been exhibited at the Forbes Library, the Arts and Industry Buildingand other venues. She has won prizes for her work at Craft Adventure. One of her rugs appeared on the cover of the Association for Traditional Hooking Artists magazine and her work was included in the Complete Guide to Collecting Rugs by Jessie Turbayne.
